Chrism Mass 2010, Year of the Priest

This year’s Chrism Mass Celebration falls on Tuesday March 30 th at 7:00pm and is held at SACRED HEART CATHEDRAL in Prince Albert. This year, the Pope has designated a special year to honor the priests of the world. We are encouraging each priest to bring two people 15 to 25 years of age from each parish or mission to receive the parish oils.

There will be two Choir Practices:

1. Sunday March 21 at 2:00 p.m.
2. Sunday March 28 at 2:00 p.m.

Both practices will be held at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Those joining the Diocesan Choir for the Chrism Mass are asked toattend at least one of these practice times. These practice times will allow the choir to be able to participate in the Banquet; there will be only a short warm-up at 6:30 p.m. before the Chrism Mass Celebration.

The Banquet will be held at 5:00 p.m. at the EXHIBITION CENTER. Because of the larger venue for this event additional tickets will be available for the banquet for $20 each on a first come first serve basis. The Chrism Mass is traditionally held during Holy Week. During this Mass the Diocese gathers together with their priests and Bishop who blesses the Holy Oils for the coming year. Every member of our Prince Albert Diocese is welcome to attend the Celebration.
