Catholic Family Services - 2010 Winter & Spring Programs Newsletter

The logo symbolizes the CFS mission to promote the integrity of the family as the basic unit of society. The grouping of people in the center represents individuals as well as families of different structures, cultures and creeds that make up our larger community. The cross represents Christ and the hope that His death on the cross brings. The cross is also very much part of our everyday journey to life. It serves as a symbol of hope, inspires us to be a force for positive change, and challenges us to live and to promote the qualities of unconditional love, empathy and forgiveness. The slogan articulates this message of hope.
The purpose of Catholic Family Services of Prince Albert is to provide a quality counseling service and offer preventative programs as well as advocacy for our clients.
In 1984 the priests of the city of Prince Albert felt that there was a need to establish counseling services. The reason for this need was established by the demand of counseling put on the priests of the city. The priests could not address this need due to time constraints and other reasons. It was at that time, through the support of the clergy and volunteer help the agency was formed. Catholic Family Services is an agency operating under an affiliation with the Catholic Diocese of Prince Albert and the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Saskatoon.
